Vinicius has a strong life sciences background, with undergraduate and master's degrees in Biology and Genetics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). He then moved to Germany to pursue his PhD at the Max Planck Institute and the University of Tübingen, where he conducted high-impact research and deepened his expertise in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific leadership. Afterward, he relocated to Switzerland to join the University of Lausanne (UNIL), supported by an EMBO long-term fellowship, coordinating local and international collaborations spanning fundamental and applied research.
He later transitioned into a cross-functional early discovery small-molecules R&D project management role, leading technology-driven initiatives that linked discovery work to development milestones and decision-making. To reinforce the business and management side of his profile, he obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (PMI) and completed an MBA in Artificial Intelligence for Business Applications, strengthening his ability to combine structured delivery, analytics, and strategic planning in innovation pipelines. He also completed several WIPO training programs in intellectual property and patent law, furthering his focus on turning scientific results into protected, scalable assets in the life sciences industry.
